Dear all.

After a very very painful process we have now all outstanding orders and stock here - we paid and ordered this (as you will remember) back in February.

Clearly this is not good enough for any of us. So to those ends we have been working with a new supplier who has a lead time of just 14 days so we will no longer ever have this sort of issue again.

The stock that just arrived at 07:15 will now be processed and the outstanding orders will be dispatched.

We thank you all so much for your complete patience and understanding and we hope to see you all soon.

Thursday, phew they are here!

Morning all.

Hope everyone is well and yes they are here. The first part of our order is with us now and the second batch will be with us next week. PHEW.

What we do now is to inspect them all and get everything put together and then we will start to get them all on their way over the next week. We are at the Bunker Bash this weekend.

A massive thank you to you all for your total understanding you have all been more than supportive and loyal and it is something we really do appreciated more than you would know.

Being in business is a great place to be but sometimes it can also be very painful and the last five weeks has been one of those times. So again thank you very very much for your support. We have even had clients call to say that they don't need their tents right now so to pass them on to others who need them - how generous and kind is that? Makes the job worth while and this whole hobby is full of great people.

Tuesdays Tent Update

I do not want another three weeks like the one we just had :-(

It has been a long couple of weeks but finally we are getting there. We are supposed to be at a show this weekend but will cancel to process them all and get sorted for once and for all and get yours and everyone else’s order on there way to their owners! And the good news we have found another supplier who I am about to send an original too to get made as we can’t have this issue again.

I most also add that you guys have been most polite and very respectful and that is a credit to you all – it is always a pleasure to do business with such folks.

Any problems let me know and in the meantime if there is anything else we can help with then please just ask as that’s what we are here for.

Wednesday Tent update

Folks, sorry for the so late update but we have been working hard to get this together for everyone but sadly we aren't going to get our stock here for everyone for the weekend.

I and all of us here at Pathfinder are deeply sorry for this and I hope we truly haven't created you a lot of problems for this weekend. Thank you so much to those who have been calling in over the last week or so and have called today and we thank you for your understanding - it is very kind of you all - we know that many of you we needing your tents for this weekend. As you know we have given this our 110% to get them here for this weekend - as far as planning to go and pick it up from customs, but alas we have not been allowed to do so.

It has been a long couple of weeks but we will be sending tents out next and by the looks of it I will personally be driving an order to Guernsey to make sure the guys there have their for next weekend.

I am tired now and I am going home. Please do call through tomorrow if you would like to talk some more. And please do accept our sincere apologies for the delay.

Tuesdays Tent Update

At last we are getting there. We expect the ETA into on Thursday - we are working to get this date moved forward asap.

Everything is ready to go, the poles and pegs and everything else is good to go - we are just standing by for the tents. We will get this out on 24 hour delivery for the UK.

Please check the blog twice daily as we will put more information up as soon as it comes in.

Friday - update...

Morning all,

Just put a call into Cyril and awaiting an update from him and will let you know more as soon as we do.

I did buy a bottle of whisky last night when I heard the news that too RAF Typhoons had been grounded because of ash in the engines but for once the UK didn’t make knee jerk decisions to ground all aircraft – yet.

I have friends and family still stuck in Russia and Switzerland. It is an eye opener on how much we all depend on aircraft.

Tent update - Thursday.

Morning all – the next update.

Freight from around the world is starting to move and naturally there is a back log of freight that needs to be cleared. Once cleared, new bookings can be placed by freight companies so then they can start to schedule delivery. Once we know where we are in that list then we can let everyone know. Talking with our freight forwarder this morning we could be in for Monday!!!!! Which means we would be on target for delivery to everyone before the weekend. Phew. We will keep you right up to date as news comes in.

Interestingly, Cyril was saying this morning that it is chaos and BA alone have 3000 pilots around the world at airports where they shouldn’t be and their planes are around the world too. So they need get all of their planes and crew back in the right places…

I don’t know about Black Monday but this really is ASH TUESDAY!

Small wall tents, flysheets, groundsheets and pyramidal tents.

Game on!

OK - flights are starting to move so we can now crack on with getting our small wall tents sorted. Have spoken to our freight guy first thing this morning and waiting a status update. We expect freight from around the world to start moving but we have to be mindful of the back log of freight the has built up at the terminals so we may have delays until that is cleared - depends how good customs are but I dare say that they are working 24/7...well they better be!

As soon as we know more today will up date again. We know that everyone is needing their tents for May bank holiday and we will go through hell and high water to make sure we can meet this deadline.

Tent up date - freight delays continue!

OK - so none of us have any nails left and what a time of year for a volcano to go bang. But listening to the latest news aircraft should be allowed to start flying again from 01:00 tomorrow. Hopefully the airfreight will start to move then too so that we can get our tents here and then sent out immediately.

Thanks to everyone for their understanding - we do at times move mountains but a volcano is a new one on us.......!

Tent up date - Volcano - freight delays

Just to keep everyone up to speed we do have a delay in shipping because of - believe it or not because of the volcanic eruption in Iceland. It has grounded all flights into and out of Europe. Which means all or the freight flights are grounded too. Our tents are in amongst that back log and unable to ship anything out around the world until flights resume. This is bad timing for all of us but will update as soon as we know more. Please feel free to give us a call at anytime if you would like to know more or fancy giving us a good kicking....!

IT WAS A PLEASURE TALKING TO YOU ON PHONE TODAY, THE SITUATION OF YOUR ORDER NO. 9 IS THAT YOUR TENTS ARE READY, TENTS NEED TO BE CHECKED BY THE INSPECTION DEPARTMENT BUT THIS IS BEING DELAYED AS WE HAVE BEEN ORDERED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO SUPPLY TENTS TO CHILE IN TWO CHARTERED PLANES, ONE PLANE IS LEAVING TOMORROW AND THE 2ND ONE WILL LEAVE ON THE 21ST.

ONCE THE PACKING DEPARTMENT IS FREE FROM THIS, YOUR TENTS WILL BE CHECKED AND PACKED IMMEDIATELY AND SENT.

WE DO REGRET THIS DELAY BUT WE ARE HELPLESS DUE TO EXTREME GOVERNMENT PRESSURE TO SUPPLY THE 2 CHARTERS FOR CHILE.

Tent update!

Folks - just to let you know that we are awaiting delivery of our small wall tents, pyramidal tents, groundsheets and flysheets - and yes we are biting our finger nails too!

Once they are here we inspect them and once happy we get them on their way. The poles and pegs and everything else is place so just awaiting on delivery. We have about 3 pallets going straight out to Chris our US guy at www.ddayquartermaster.com so we have some busy times ahead!

Further news is that we have changed something on the small walls that we have been trying to do for a while - and this is the first delivery of the new improved tents so you will be the first to have them.... ;-)

Demand has gone nuts!

Folks - looks like the show season has come early this year. The demand for tents has been outrageous and they are going fast. So if you want to take advantage of the March sale and bag a cheap tent then do it now because we will be out of stock soon!

Stove shipments

At flipping last folks the stoves have JUST arrived. Apologies for the delay in these but now they are here we can start to process them.

Not too sure of the date yet of them but as you can seen they have never left their original packaging - I love stuff like that!

Canvas shortage...!

Owning a business is great fun but there is a fine line between pleasure & pain!

Because of the Haiti disaster all global canvas production has gone to the relief agencies for emergency shelters. This has of course a knock on effect to our suppliers so we may come across a tent shortage for a while.

The effect of this may be that if you were wanting a tent from Pathfinder - a small wall tent for example, then you may want to order or preorder one right now just to ensure you have one in time for the show season otherwise you may have to rough again this year!

I hate BT!

Last week we were out about so we put the phone lines on divert to our mobiles. OK - that's easy enough - isn't it?! Yes it is but now we have a fault on our line and can't take the divert off!

So please bear with us whilst BT sort the problem...........!

Stove delivery date!

Folks just had this in from our suppliers with regards to the stoves. Not too sure why the shippers are being slow but this will keep everyone up to date! As always any questions then please just let us know!

Welcome to 2010!

Welcome folks.

Yes we have another year ahead of us and it looks like it is going to be as busy as 2009. With the 65th anniversary of the ending of the war this year we have many many events to attend.

So what's new? Just today we have two tent samples delivered - the USA early tan pup tent and the German Two man mountain tent. And we have had the chance yet to get them up but just by looking at them here in the office we have two more exceptional products to add to our range for 2010!

The M1941 have been dispatched to us today so will be with us in 14 days time.

IT IS ALL GO AND IT IS ONLY JANUARY - I need a holiday!
